Earth Class Year 3

Magnetic Board Games

Year 3 have spent this half term planning and designing their very own magnetic board games- a mission given to us by Tony Smyth (managing director @ Smyths Toys UK). On Friday, they finally created their games and showcased them to their families this afternoon. Thank you Year 3 families for coming to play our games and thank you to all of the adults who helped on Friday! Well done Earth class!

Year 3 Stone age day

Earth class had a fabulous ‘Stone Age’ theme day on the last day of term. They practised some spear throwing, made some Stone Age style pottery, been hunting and gathering and done some Stone Age style cave art. Well done Year 3!

The properties of Rocks

Year 3 have been studying the properties of rocks for science.

Our Allotment

Year 3 have grown some serious lettuce this year.

Hampshire is my region and I'm proud of it !

The year 3 children explored parts of Hampshire to experience the county we live in and to practise some of their Geographical skills, such as: drawing a simple map using a key, sketching a picture of the landscape, measuring people/ travel (on foot, bikes, cars, buses etc.), taking photographs using a camera, using 8 point compasses to travel around the area, using OS maps and spotting human/ physical features. They  travelled on a coach to various locations in Hampshire including Whiteley, Southampton and the New Forest.
