At Titchfield Primary School, we believe lunchtime is an important part of the school day. It’s a chance for children to enjoy nutritious food, spend time with friends and develop healthy habits.
Our School Meals
Our school meals are freshly prepared by Chartwells, who provide a varied menu designed to give children the energy they need to learn, play and grow.
Children can choose from a range of meals, including vegetarian options, with menus changing throughout the year.

Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school lunch under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
Children in Years 3 to 6 may also qualify for free school meals depending on their family’s circumstances.
From September 2026, eligibility has expanded to include all children whose families receive Universal Credit, regardless of household earnings.
Even if your child already receives a free meal in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, we encourage eligible families to register, as this can help provide additional funding to support children’s education.

Special Dietary Requirements
We want every child to feel safe and included at lunchtime.
If your child has a food allergy, intolerance or medical dietary requirement, please contact Chartwells directly to arrange an appropriate menu.

Please also ensure the school is informed of your child’s dietary requirements.
Packed Lunches
Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch from home. We encourage families to provide a healthy, balanced lunch that helps children stay energised throughout the afternoon.
We are a nut-aware school, so please do not include nuts or products containing nuts in packed lunches. Children should not share food, as other pupils may have allergies.
Morning Snacks
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free piece of fruit or vegetable each school day.
Children in Years 3 to 6 are welcome to bring a healthy snack, such as fruit or vegetables, for morning break.
