Supporting Our Service Families

At Titchfield Primary School, we are proud to be part of a community with strong connections to the Armed Forces.

We recognise that being part of a Service family can bring unique experiences, opportunities and challenges. Whether children are adjusting to a new school, missing a loved one during deployment or simply wanting to spend time with others who understand, we want every child to feel known, valued and that they belong.

Super Service Kids

Our children named their own group Super Service Kids, a welcoming space where Service children can connect, build friendships, have fun and share their feelings.

Through games, activities and opportunities to talk, children support one another, celebrate their experiences and develop a sense of belonging.

As one of our children beautifully explained:

“We can help each other because we know how it feels.”

These relationships reflect our STRIVE values, particularly Resilience, Valued Collaboration and Emotional Intelligence.

Working with Our Families

We know that every family’s experience is different. We encourage Service families to keep us informed about deployments, changes or anything that might affect their child’s wellbeing so we can offer appropriate support.

Mrs Chart is our main contact for Super Service Kids and can be contacted through the school office at office@titchfieldprimary.co.uk.

Service Pupil Premium

Schools receive additional funding through the Service Pupil Premium to help meet the pastoral needs of eligible children from Armed Forces families.

If you are a Service family, please let our school office know so that we can accurately record your child’s Service status and ensure appropriate support is available.

At Titchfield, no child should feel they have to navigate challenges alone. Together, we help every child belong, grow and shine. 💙

Our children say:

“We have fun and it can be a good distraction.”

“It’s a nice time to be in a small group and it helps to make me feel happy.”

“It’s a time to make new friends and learn more about each other.”

“I always get excited when it’s time to go to Super Service Kids because everyone is always kind to me.”

“If your mum and dad are away you can always rely on your group to make you feel better about your worry.”

If any of our families are due a deployment, please do let us know so that we can support with this.
